Exclusives!
The OSWCC Summer Social wouldn’t be complete without some excellent exclusive OSWCC branded merchandise to commemorate the day! Every year we’ve done a custom proof card, and this year is no exception. In fact there will be TWO proof cards this year, each one featuring a different bounty hunter that made his first appearance in the Empire Strikes Back 30 years ago.

This year we’ll have the exclusive badges to collect, featuring a staggering 20 different designs by former Hasbro artist, Mark LeMieux. Each member that RSVPs by June 26 at midnight EST will receive a personalized badge with their name on it and the appropriate design. Complete sets will also be for sale in the OSWCC store beginning on June 25 and will also be for sale at the Social. The set will feature an exclusive Inner Circle badge that is available only in the set.

OSWCC 2010 Boba Fett shirts will be distributed to those members who pre-ordered and a very limited number will be for sale at the Social. The royal blue logo t-shirt will also be available in limited quantities and don’t forget the OSWCC goody bag as you some in the door! The goody bag is for fully paid OSWCC members only, first come first served.

Add to all of this our traditional raffle, our fun filled charity auction, games, sales area, guest panel, food and a few other surprises, and we’ve got one terrific day of Star Wars fun planned for the OSWCC membership!

A big thanks to everyone who came out and made the 2008 Summer Social a big success! Folks from all over Ohio (and even Kentucky!) made the trip to Cincinnati for a great day of Star Wars fun. There was a great buy-sell-trade area, presentations from Kim Simmons and Scott Simmons about their involvement with the vintage line at Kenner, prizes, gaming, food, an auction, raffles, and more! There were even a few Imperials and Jedi sighted at the Social. We hope you enjoyed the day with us, we had an awesome time hosting it. Some of the photos are here with more to come.

This year is sure to be a great time as there will be lots to do including a  jawa marketplace  sales area, special VIP guests, games, minis tournament, prizes, food and much more. This year’s Summer Social is around the corner, and we thought we’d share the badges that will be used for the event. Star Wars artist Grant Gould was kind enough to do the designs and they reflect our ongoing jawa theme for the Social. Needless to say, they turned out pretty sweet.  The Social is coming July 12th in Cincinnati, Ohio, and pre-registration will begin soon. All pre-registered members will receive the appropriate badge with their name already on it.  If you are a member and haven’t been on the forums in a while, stop by and check out all the latest news. The eleventh OSWCC Summer Social is coming up in a few short months. For those of you who are making your summer travel plans, we wanted to share the date. The Social will be held on the 12th of July at the Madisonville Recreation Center in Cincinnati. More information and details will be coming soon. The Social’s going to be a great time with fun and excitement for the whole family! We’ve got a few surprises up our sleeves too, so make your plans to join us this July.

The OSWCC Summer Social wouldn’t be right without some exclusive OSWCC branded swag to commemorate the special event! Every year as long as I can remember we’ve done a custom proof card, and this year is no different. matter of fact there will be two proof cards this year, each one a tribute to George Lucas and his amazing 30 years of Star Wars he has given all of us.

This year we’ll have exclusive badges to collect, plus a proof sheet of all 12 designs for sale at the event, perfect for framing!

OSWCC 10th anniversary posters will be available this year and don’t forget the OSWCC goody bag! The goody bag is for fully paid OSWCC members only, first come first served.

The OSWCC Summer Social was held on July 16th in Cincinnati, OH. With attendees coming in from as far as Louisville , Indianapolis, Mexico, and all over the state of Ohio, we easily had about 130 people come through the doors on Saturday!

Attendees who showed up recieved a special badge and lanyard designating what area of Ohio they were from. Everyone who was a OSWCC member also received a special Anakin Skywalker proof card, and goody bag depending on what time they showed up!

Food and drinks were on hand all day as our grill masters Tracey Hamilton and Steve Meister manned the grill.

There was plenty to keep everyone busy. Upstairs there was a minis tournament taking place, while downstairs the Jawa Swap Meet was an absolute bargain fest with deals being made left and right on top notch Star Wars collectibles. The Kids kept busy with noodle saber fights, the LEGO table and LEGO video game running on an XBOX. Prizes were raffled off every 30 minutes and kept everyone hanging around until the last two big ones were claimed!

The Social is being held at the Oakley Masonic Temple in Cincinnati. The temple is easy to get to off of Interstate 71, and is very close the The Earth Collectible Toy Mall and other great “must see” attractions.
